Are you kidding me? So, T-Lame Pain is responsible for the existence of the auto-tune now? Roger Troutman must be rolling over in his grave. Zapp started using the auto-tune first years ago. I’ll be glad when this fad ends.
via XXL T-Pain is finally cashing in on Auto-Tune. Artists like Lil Wayne and Kanye West asked the Ring Leader for his blessing before using the instrument, but Diddy is taking it one step further. Continue reading this post »

Threats against a new president historically spike right after an election, but from Maine to Idaho law enforcement officials are seeing more against Barack Obama than ever before. The Secret Service would not comment or provide the number of cases they are investigating. But since the Nov. 4 election, law enforcement officials have seen more potentially threatening writings, Internet postings and other activity directed at Obama than has been seen with any past president-elect, said officials aware of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity because the issue of a president’s security is so sensitive.

Legendary dance TV show “Soul Train” is currently being developed into a movie.
According to Reuters, Iconic host Don Cornelius has linked up with Warner Brothers to create the comedy, which follows two male dancers as they get into “a lot of good stuff and some bad stuff as well.”

Welcome to 5Star Politics!. Minister Farrakhan speaks in an interview on Aljazeera Tv with host Riz Khan about Barack Obama’s campaign and victory. I love to hear Farrakhan speak. I may not always agree with him, but he is one of the most influential black men of our time.
A bank wants his Tribeca condos, the city is seizing his SUV and his lawyer dropped him for not paying his legal bills.
It’s not easy being Damon Dash, has-been hip-hop mogul.
The co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records and Rocawear - who in 2005 sold his share in the clothing empire to Jay-Z for $20 million - is under assault in Manhattan Supreme Court from lawyers, lenders and landlords fed up with not getting paid.
The fall has been a dizzying one for Dash, who has gone from owning Keds, a vodka company and 1,300 pairs of shoes to dodging bills and accusing a former accountant of ripping him off for millions of dollars.
“I’ve worked with musicians, artists and entertainers that in the eyes of the media are very wealthy,” said lawyer Jason Gabbard, who represented a fashion firm that settled a suit against Dash and his wife over $148,505 in unpaid fees. “But to borrow a phrase from my Kentucky homeland, they haven’t got a pot to p— in - they’re broke.”
A Manhattan judge this week ordered the city to seize Dash’s Chevrolet Tahoe, since he wasn’t making the $714.99 monthly payment on the leased SUV.
That October suit came on the heels of one in August, when Eastern Savings Bank foreclosed on the $7.3 million mortgage for two trendy Tribeca condos where the monthly $78,504.26 bill went unpaid for months.

WU: The Story of the Wu-Tang Clan is an inspiring tale of the Clan’s rise to power, fall from greatness and phoenix-like rebirth. This gem of a documentary includes a spectacular presentation of never before seen rare concert footage and interviews intimately narrated by acclaimed director Gerald “Gee-Bee” Barclay.

In keeping with the spirit that my main man Mr5STARHIPHOP set after the election, we promise to keep you informed about the things our New President is doing. We call this segment 5STARPOLITICS hahaha(How was that Mr5Star?). Stay informed ‘yall.
The intense back-stabbing amongst Democrats for top jobs in the Obama administration assumes there are a fixed number of jobs worth having. But it’s looking likely that some extremely choice, even consequential, jobs are going to be created by the new administration.
For example, plans are underway to establish a White House Office of Urban Policy in order to better coordinate federal efforts to help America’s cities, according to Obama transition co-chair Valerie Jarrett.
“He’s going to have a White House chief of urban policy,” Jarrett told the Trotter Group, an organization of black columnists.
She declined to divulge any names of potential choices for the post. “I’m sure there are plenty of candidates. It’s a great job,” Jarrett said.
Despite the many national problems confronting the new administration, she continued, Obama remains committed to earlier pledges to establish such an office.
“Because he began as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago, he understands at the local level is really where you can impact change and that local government can play a vital role as we try to jump start our economy,” she said. “So having somebody in the White House, because there are so many different agencies that really can impact urban America and to have one person whose job it is to really pull all of that together, is really a critical position. And there are plenty of terrific candidates for that spot.”

A book chronicling the life and death of Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard will be hitting shelves next month.
The book, titled Digging For Dirt, focuses on ODB’s rise to fame and includes personal accounts on the rapper’s life from his Wu-Tang brethren, friends, family and associates.
The book also tries to understand ODB’s eccentric behavior. In the book, ODB’s lawyer, RobertShapiro, says he believes that ODB could have had mental issues.
“It’s possible his behav ior was a result of mental illness,” said Shapiro.”One time he had his hat on backward, had on two different shoes, and he stood with his back to the judge with his hat facing the judge as if he was looking at the judge.”
ODB (born Russell Tyrone Jones) died in 2004 from an accidental drug overdose while recording his third solo album.
Digging For Dirt is slated to hit shelves on December 2nd.
Former record mogul Suge Knight is suing Kanye West due to a 2005 incident, according to TMZ.com.
In the suit, which names Kanye and his G.O.O.D. record label, Suge blames Ye for allowing an individual to sneak a gun past security into his pre-MTV VMAs party at Miami’s The Shore club in 2005.
At the party, the individual managed to shoot Suge in his upper right leg, which shattered a bone. Knight alleges that he had to undergo months of physical therapy, suffered permanent impairment in his mobility, and ended up with significant medical bills - which included the cost of a private jet to transport him from Miami to Los Angeles.
The lawsuit also claims that Suge lost a 15-carat, $135,000 diamond stud earring during the incident, which he includes in the suit as “damages for the loss of use and enjoyment of the earring.”
Spokespeople for Kanye West were not available to comment.

I don’t know if any of you watched Making The Band 4 this season when the girl group Danity Kane went through turmoil and 2 of their members, Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods were excused from the group. Well, Diddy didn’t waste any time in replacing them, after all business is business. Diddy’s beautiful solo songstress Cassie is now slated to join the group, but dosen’t seem to be too happy about it. I only hope that when Diddy reads this quote from Cassie, she dosen’t end up like Aubrey!
I Am Writing This To Clear Up The Rumors…YES I AM OFFICIALLY NOT A SOLO ARTIST ANYMORE I AM NOW APART OF DANITY KANE! So That Means There Will Be No Sophmore Album For Me Next Year. Im Sorry To Tell U All This Its What Diddy Wanted And I Really Love All The Girls From Danity Kane But I Wanted To Be Solo But It Came Down To This And Diddys The BossMan So Yeah……Im Happy But Then At The Same Time I Am Pissed!!!! I had to give my Detroit homies some love right now. Elzhi, who is half of the group Slum Village, dropped his first solo joint called The Preface (in stores now). This lyrical genius is one of the coldest emcees in the game and so underrated. So this one’s for Detroit Hip Hop, respect.

I told you, it’s Politics central here on 5 Star Hip Hop. If you don’t like politics, I feel bad for you. On another note…JFK predicted this to the T, EXACTLY as it happened. Peep the quote below.
If, for some reason, you cannot see the image or read it legibly, Robert F. Kennedy is quoted as saying:
Things are moving so fast in race relations a Negro could be president in 40 years. There’s no question about it, in the next 40 years a Negro can achieve the same position that my brother has. Prejudice exists and probably will continue to, but we have tried to make progress and we are making progress. We are not going to accept the status quo.
