Here comes a head banger from the up-and-coming artist Young Chris. The last time I heard of Rico Love, he was busting out Lay Me Down with T.I. Also, I’ve never really caught onto the works of French Montana. It’s usually hit or miss with him. Go figure.

I usually frown upon feature heavy tracks because they get boring after the 4th minute of random artists coming in, but I must say this one is well done.  I thought Black Thought went all the way the fuck in, too. All of did they thing really coughexceptgamebeingoffbeatcough.

From the 8 Billion Lives project, this piece was done by Eric Swiecinski, who was awarded a student Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for his piece, The Race.

The 8 Billion Lives project celebrates the diversity of individuals through short documentary films that capture the “day in the life” of real people from all over the world. In this short film, Eric surveys the life of former Roc-A-Fella member, Young Chris.

Destined for success after hooking up with Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records at 15 as a member of the duo, Young Gunz, Christopher “Young Chris” Ries saw his chance almost disappear with the dissolution of the label. Unwilling to pass on his own potential and return to the hard Philly streets, Chris is now working on his own to assume his rightful place alongside the rap greats he came into the game with.”

New joint from Sha Stimuli over some Just Blaze production.  His album My Soul To Keep is set to come out October 27th.  I know I’ve heard enough from him to grab one for myself.

In the interview above, Young Chris chops it up with Wil Loesel of Culture VI Media, discussing Jay-Z and being signed at such an early age, the alleged break up State Property and the condition it is in currently, the music industry, his music and much more.

I’ll tell you, I was a Young Chris fan from the Roc-a-fella days – but after speaking with him, I’m really going to be following his career hard. He’s a great artist and has a terrific understanding of the industry.

He speaks to me about the “gift and the curse” of having Jay-Z co-sign him at such an early age. Also speaks about the alleged breakup of State Property, as well as the motives behind giving away so much music.

The concept was pretty simple, Chris sees girl, Chris sweet talks girl, Chris gets girl. Fortunately for Chris, this wasn’t going to take too long to shoot, so when he arrived on set 4 hours late due to “shore traffic” I was still able to pull this off with the 2 hrs of daylight we had left. Chris is a cool dude, and very professional so it wasn’t hard for us to focus and make the most out of the time we did have and in the end everything worked out.
