Thanks a lot, music thieves and Internet hackers — or at least the ones who have been pillaging through Lupe Fiasco’s new joints. Because of you guys, the MC said he’s not putting out the sequel to his Enemy of the State: A Love Story mixtape anytime soon.

“I was plotting on doing the follow-up to that,” Lupe said. “Simply because [Enemy of the State] was short. And I felt like it was space to do another one. I was gonna do another one called Friend to the People, but I started to get wind that people had songs they shouldn’t have had. I was like, ‘This is just gonna open the floodgates if I come out with another record. I know these dudes are threatening to leak records and do crazy stuff.’ Sometimes I feel there may be too much Lupe music out there — whether it be old stuff or new stuff or freestyles. I don’t want to have a ton of music sitting out. I made the decision to fall back from it and really focus on the climb. We were a couple of weeks away from doing that.”

In light of the recent events that have struck Haiti, a group of artists have decided to put together a compilation of music, where all the proceeds will go towards funding aid for Haiti. One of the stand out tracks from the project is a collaborative record from Lupe Fiasco, Kenna and Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda.

A hybrid of rock and hip-hop, “Resurrection” bolsters a meaningful verse from Lupe Fiasco, as well as great vocals from Kenna and production from Shinoda.

In partnership with the United Nations Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and Dave Matthews Band’s BAMA Works Haitian relief effort, Music for Relief is working to provide immediate aid with food, water, and emergency medical supplies, and long-term sustainable housing solutions for the people affected by this catastrophic natural disaster.”

“Download To Donate To Haiti” is a compilation of unreleased music from the likes of Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Alanis Morissette, Slash, The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, Kenna, Enrique Iglesias and Lupe Fiasco, who have teamed up with Music For Relief to aid earthquake victims.

This song surfaced a bit ago, but Atlantic was crying about anybody who posted the song and was threatening legal action, because Lupe claimed it was stolen.  Apparently they’re okay with it now…as this (the explicit, clean, AND instrumental) was blasted out by them….anybody knows when those three are leaked in sequence or together, it means the song is possibly a single.  We’ll see…Lazers is due out some time later this year.

Old and never-before-seen (at least on the internets) footage of one of Lupe’s first in-stores in Chicago.
