Lupe hooks up with the UK artist Sway again for this new cut. The bonus track is really old actually (Summer), but was never posted here on 5STAR. If you recognize the name Sarah Green it’s because she’s one of Lupe’s artists and has appeared on The Cool, F&L, and Lasers. This time, the tables are turned, and she takes the lead.

How’d eveybody’s Thanksgivings go? While everybody was busy smashing some turkey (or tofurkey if that’s how you roll) , Lupe released a new piece of work titled Friend of the People. Bout to listen to it now, but I doubt it’ll be too similar to his recent subpar work. Enjoy!

I almost lost it when I saw this lineup.  The natural question is who has your favorite verse, but the lengths aren’t exactly even.  Feel free to discuss anyways.

Sidenote:  Why does Wiz Khalifa feel like it’s a good idea to use lines like “on like a light”?

Turns out, Airplanes was Lupe Fiasco‘s song first. That brings the total count for B.o.B‘s-hits-that-were-originally-Lupe’s to 2. That’s pretty crazy, especially because Airplanes and Nothin’ On You were Bobby Ray’s biggest hits.

I read JX Axe’s Laser’s Review and needless to say, it doesn’t appear that die hard Lupe fans are please with the music on Lasers. This is the best interview that I have found where Lupe expresses his thoughts and experiences over the past 3 years. Check it out and leave your thoughts below.

Lupe Fiasco had a plan. Once upon a time the emcee hailing from Chicago, blessed with a style that few had heard before and the ability to paint vivid pictures with his words, looked to put out three albums. First, he would drop Food & Liquor, where he would allude to his character Michael Young while also introducing himself. Then, he would drop The Cool, a concept album in which Michael Young would encounter The Game, conquering it before becoming consumed by its power and ultimately perishing. Finally, there would be LUPEnd, the final chapter in his trilogy, a summation of Michael Young and Lupe’s parallel journey. Something went wrong though. Food & Liquor and The Cool were created, distributed and labeled classics by those who listened to them. But LUPEnd never followed. Rumors floated in and out of the blogosphere that Lupe was now putting together a completely different trilogy of albums, but that also proved to be false. Finally, three years after The Cool, LASERS surfaced as Lupe’s next album, and the anticipation for another lyrical masterpiece began to bubble.

Now THIS is what ya’ Boy TS1 lives for. Real Hip Hop. Story goes, Lupe was rocking a show this past Saturday night at the Blue Note Jazz Club in NYC. Needless to say hotness was born. These dudes go in for about 7 minutes over none other than the late , great J. Dilla beats. Kanye kills this shit family.
