Entitled “Bust A Move,” Jones recruits Shooter Holly to partake in this Byrd Gang record.
Not entirely feeling this track, but I do have high hopes for his mixtape, which you will see here on Tuesday, so be sure to check back then.
This entry was posted byThe Dipset crew is not usually a group I listen to, mostly because they all wear LV scarves (is that cool? When did scarves that cost $500 become a cool fashion statement for men?). Juelz Santana and Jim Jones are somewhat of an anomaly in hip-hop. When they rap singularly, or on the same song, they are usually trash. Yet surround them with talented emcees, i.e. Jim Jones on the BlakRoc album or Juelz Satana when he appeared on a Fort Minor mixtape with Mike Shinoda and Celph Titled, they both surprisingly showcase their talents. Yet here, on the same song, both Jim Jones and Juelz are lyrically solid. It gives me hope that these two will stop catering to the mainstream with their basic lyrics and continue to just spit. The video is fairly reminiscent of certain scenes from American Gangster, although Russel Crowe is nowhere to be found. Over the “Forever” beat. Check it out.

Not who you were expecting to see collaborate with Jones? Me either. Whatever though, I kind of dig it. Link below, folks.

This entry was posted byThe Black Keys, Mos Def, and Jim Jones grace David Letterman with a live performance of “Ain’t Nothing Like You (Hoochie Coo)” off of their album BlakRoc. The song sounds incredible live. Also, this is honestly the first time I have ever heard Jim Jones legitimately spit. I thought he was garbage, but his two verses on this track are really good. I would love to see more of this Mr. Jones.

This entry was posted byI need to make up for my lack of posting recently, due to the recent breakdown of my MacBook Pro…way to go Apple. Anyway, here is the official trailer for a CD I think is going to be absolutely amazing. Dame Dash has teamed up with rock group The Black Keys to create a fusion of hip-hop and rock called BlakRoc. Featuring some of the best lyricists in the game like Mos Def, Raekwon, RZA, and Pharoahe Monch, this CD is going to be nothing less than brilliant. Hip-hop has come a long way. CD out in stores on Friday, make sure you go pick it up.

Sidebar: Quite honestly, Fabolous did the damn thing and I am quite pleased with his efforts on this track. However, I am looking forward to the Lupe Fiasco remix to Angels more so than anything, especially a remix from Ross.
