The first leak off of Asher’s ridiculously-titled sophomore mixtape, Seared Foie Gras w/ Quince and Cranberry.  Say what you will about Asher, he has a ton of haters and a ton of fans.  You can put me in the “fan” corner.  His first mixtape, The Greenhouse Effect, is still one of my favorite mixtapes to date.  I spent a lot of time defending him to friends and people who would post comments just hating on the dude.  But then his album was extremely underwhelming and completely lacking the lyricism that he showcased on The Greenhouse Effect.  Having heard this track, I am very hopeful that his potent lyrics will again shine through on this upcoming mixtape.  I just don’t understand why artists sacrifice their lyrics to make an album that appeals to the masses, Asher’s didn’t even sell that well. Here comes new material from Consequence and Asher Roth, off of Consequence’s forthcoming mixtape, “Cons TV Presents… Movies On Demand,” which is set to drop in February.

Entitled “Childish Games,” Cons enlists an Asher Roth for a guest verse, Mr. Attic on the boards and Statik Selectah with the scratches, giving us another great record. Though this song is seemingly mediocre at first take, after a few listens it becomes evident that both Cons and Asher exhibit phenomenal mic skills.

Take it or leave it, but you’re better off taking it.

In the video above, you can catch Asher Roth performing Lark on my Go-Kart to one of the most hyped crowds. Personally, after seeing this footage, I have evn more respect for Asher Roth. Plus, this was my favorite track off of his debut album, Asleep in the Bread Aisle, which is out now. Hate him or love him, the crowd speaks louder.

The homey Jabari catches up with Asher Roth for the latest installment of his #ArtistAdvice series. In the minute long video clip above, Asher Roth encourages newcomers to have fun, be creative and stay as independent as possible.

Good advice from a newcomer.

In the video above, Asher Roth talks with Rocsi and Terrence about his album, Asleep in the Bread Aisle, where the title of the album came from, how he keeps his head on straight, touring around the world and more. Asher also breaks out with a rap and discusses how he wants to help be the voice of change in the younger generation, namely childhood obesity.

Props to Asher for rocking the flip flops, but more so with that killer rap. Great future ahead for him
