This entry was posted byI deeply apologize for going all day without posting this. Unacceptable. Anyway, ever since Consequence spit a verse on Kanye’s Late Registration, we all knew the kid had talent. Here is his highly anticipated new mixtape, Movies On Demand, featuring the likes of Styles P, Talib Kweli, Kid Cudi, Rick Ross and many, many more. Enjoy, this has potential to be the mixtape of the year. Track listing after the jump. Props to NahRight for sponsoring this.

This entry was posted byLooks like Consequence dropped off his Movies On Demand artwork and tracklist over at Kanye’s blog. For this project, Consequence recruits a supporting cast of Rick Ross, Pharoahe Monch, Styles P, Maino, Spree Wilson, Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Q-Tip, Kid Cudi, Big Sean Asher Roth, Diddy and The Lox.
And though the project debuts on March 15th, we have already received a few stand out tracks from the project, including “Childish Games“ with Asher Roth, “Sounds G.O.O.D. 2 Me,” “Whatever U Want“ with his fellow G.O.O.D. Music artists, and the Bad Boy Remix to “Whatever U Want.”
Overall, I must say that I am very excited for this project to come about.

This entry was posted byHosted by DJ Whoo Kid, here comes seventeen new records from XXL’s 2010 Freshmen.
Though giving it just a brief run through, the stand out tracks come from the stand out artists, including J. Cole, Donnis, Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean. And though I have a bias from the mentioned rappers over the rest of the list, I am quite pleased with the entire project. Take it or leave it. Your call.

This entry was posted byHere’s a real dope free EP from a young emerging artist out of ATL. Here’s what he had to say about the project.
So this one is special to me because i’m playing my own music and you should be too. Today was cool for the most part as an artist, but as a person it was all over the place having issues with a female, and yada yada but it’s all good cause we finlly released. I’m not gonna do too much ranting on about myself and I probably could have let one of my other bloggers do this but i’ll let yall hear from the man who made the music himself. Wouldn’t it have been even doper if Drake would have posted “So far Gone” wherever you downloaded it at? Well anyways. Download this and i’m sure you won’t be dissapointed and if you do it’s free music – ev4n holt

This entry was posted byIf you remember a few weeks ago I brought you my interview with the up-and-coming, St. Louis/Columbia based artist Goone. After witnessing his lyrical ability in an amateur “rap battle” held here at the University of Missouri and hearing more of his music, I held the belief that Goone definitely had the talent to move upwards in this rap game. Today, I am pleased to bring you his debut mixtape, Calm Before The Storm. With 13 tracks, this mixtape is the beginning of Goone’s journey into what hopefully is a successful rap career. So download the tape below, give it a listen and as always, comments are appreciated. Enjoy.

This entry was posted byIt isn’t often that I come across a new artist that blows me away the first time I hear them. It happened with Jay-Z and Nas, Wale, and Fashawn. You can now add Laws to that list. The Tampa-based MC emcee hits us with his debut mixtape, and the list of producers backing him is astounding. DJ Khalil, 9th Wonder, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League…do I need to continue? As well as being hosted by Don Cannon, Laws does not disappoint with the lyricism. Laws reminds me of a little bit of Lupe with his wordplay, and even a bit of Eminem with his flow on certain songs. So please check him out. Track listing and download after the jump! THE CANNON!!!!

DJ Drama has become so heavy in the mixtape game that it’s a big deal when you have “your first Gangsta Grillz” mixtape. Not to be forgotten, DJ Sense is also a part of the mixtape as well.

This entry was posted byCookin’ Soul & the folks at 2dopeboyz put together this project, which I can’t explain any better than Meka did:
As many of you know, February 7th was both J DIlla’s birthday and ten years to the day of Big Pun’s passing (and February 6th being Bob Marley’s birthday). With that said, Cookin’ Soul and the dopehouse pay homage to the work of the two legends on this project featuring Big Pun raps over J Dilla instrumentals.
