This entry was posted byI was crushed once I found out that the Kanye West and Lady Gaga tour was canceled, but it seems as if things are going to turn around for myself and many more people. According to the press release from Interscope Records, Lady Gaga will continue her own, separate tour, entitled The Monster Ball tour, with a supporting/opening act of Cleveland’s own, Kid Cudi. Excited now? I am.
International pop superstar Lady Gaga today announced plans for her next North American tour, entitled “The Monster Ball.” The tour will begin on November 27 in Montreal, and will wind up on January 21, 2010 in Gaga’s hometown, New York City. Kid Cudi will be the supporting act for the entire tour.”
Sidebar: Since Kanye and Gaga are not touring together, this is the second best thing. As I sit here and type, I am thinking of how much art and passion will be poured into all these shows. Seems to me that both Lady Gaga and Kid Cudi exhibit a mass amount of creativity, art, beauty and passion, not to mention fun and energy, into their music and into their performances. Be sure to not miss the show in your area, seeing that both artists are more talented than most around.

Sidebar: Yes, I said December 8th, 2009. The album was pushed back from October 20th to December 8th. Why? Don’t ask me, but I am not too happy about it. Nonetheless, I will be out that day getting it.

In Drake’s song Fear, he raps:
“I never cried when ‘Pac died, but I probably will when Hov does/ And if my tears hold value, then I would drop one for every single thing he showed us/ And I’ll be standing in a puddle.”
Via telephone, Drake clarified to MTV that the 2Pac mention on the song was not a diss, but instead was an attempt to explain how new he is to hip-hop.
Courtesy of MTV:
Drake said, unequivocally, he isn’t dissing Tupac Shakur on “Fear.” He’s just pointing out that he was too young to fully feel the impact of the music icon at the time of his passing.
“I never cried when ‘Pac died,” Drake raps on the song from his So Far Gone EP. “But I probably will when Hov does/ And if my tears hold value, then I would drop one for every single thing he showed us/ And I’ll be standing in a puddle.”
“A lot of people also sort of don’t understand the meaning of that line,” Drake said. “It’s not necessarily that I don’t love West Coast hip-hop or that I don’t love ‘Pac now that I’m 22, but that line was just said to show how new I am to hip-hop. And like I said, I was 9 when that happened, so it didn’t really affect me. But that song in general was just one of those things that took awhile to finish because it was an opportunity to say a lot of the things on my mind. That always feels good as a rapper, when you can get your thoughts out.”
Sidebar: Why are people whining about this? I completely concur with Drake on his rap and with his explanation to MTV. Though Pac will forever remain as one of the best in hip-hop, I was not directly affected by his death because I was so young, but seeing Jay or Kanye pass would pull tears from me.

The Compton MC will release his fourth LP The R.E.D. Album on December 1, Rap-Up.com has learned. A deluxe edition of the set will also be available that day. The holiday release season heats up as Game goes head-to-head with Alicia Keys’ The Element of Freedom and R. Kelly’s Untitled.
“R.E.D. album soon, wrappin this mothaf#$%@ up in 30 days ! Jimmy Iovine told me to tell ya when this sh!t drop, Merry X-Mas ! BWS/Aftermath,” he tweeted on Monday, while hinting that his new labelmate Diddy may make a guest appearance.
The Game had considered retiring from rap after 2008’s L.A.X., which spawned the hit single “My Life” with Lil Wayne. The R.E.D. Album signifies his RE-Dedication to Hip-hop.”
Looks like Nylon TV caught up with Kid Cudi in the streets to walk, talk and buy him a pretzel. I imagine an interview or photoshoot of sorts coming from both Nylon and Cudi.
What would you do if you would run into Kid Cudi? We bought him a pretzel.”
Sidebar: Did you happen to catch Nylon TV spelling the name of Kid Cudi wrong? Kid Kudi? FAIL.
Shyne is home, or is he? Most of you have probably heard the news, seeing that I am late with the post, but nonetheless, it deserves a look on here. Looks like MTV is reporting that Shyne is still in custody due to his immigration status.
According to MTV:
It looks like Shyne’s homecoming is on hold for the moment.
The former Bad Boy rapper (born Jamal Barrow) was scheduled to be released from prison Tuesday (October 6) after serving more than nine years of a 10-year sentence in connection with the 2001 Club New York shooting involving Diddy and Jennifer Lopez.
But his release is now under review, as representatives for the rapper revealed to MTV News that the Brooklyn MC is being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an unspecified facility in Western New York State. Officials are determining whether or not to deport the rapper, who was born in Belize, a rep explained.

Though the video does not show anything too in-depth, it does gives up a glimpse into what to expect. For some reason, I have a feeling that this will be bigger than the D.O.A. This entry was posted byKanye West and No I.D., arguably two of the greatest producers of our generation/all time, are linking up with Common, arguably one of the best MCs in the industry, for his upcoming album, The Believer. This should deem exciting news for all fans, seeing that most did not enjoy Universal Mind Control. Nonetheless, enjoy the write up by XXL below.
Courtesy of XXL:
Common is returning to his roots. After linking with The Neptunes for the majority of last year’s dance friendly Universal Mind Control, the Chi-town MC is reuniting with Kanye West and No I.D. for his ninth studio album, The Believer.
During the benefit show for his Common Ground Foundation over the weekend, Com told XXLMag.com that he has already recorded tracks with Kanye and No I.D. for the project, which he expects to hit stores sometime next spring.
No I.D. has been producing songs for the rapper/actor ever since Com first broke out onto the scene in 1992 with Can I Borrow A Dollar? He went on to produce the majority of Common’s next two albums: Resurrection and One Day It’ll All Make Sense.
Along with signing the fellow Chicago resident to his G.O.O.D. Music imprint, Kanye produced the bulk of Com’s highest selling album 2005’s Be, as well as 2007’s Finding Forever.”
Sidebar: Love or hate Universal Mind Control, I think that it was a fantastic album. Though I am excited to see Common reunite with Kanye West and No I.D., Common’s last album with the Neptunes was great.

This entry was posted byIt seems like Lady Gaga dropped the secrets behind her upcoming tour with Kanye West, entitled Fame Kills Starring Kanye West and Lady Gaga. Personally, I think that this concept is more than amazing.
Via the Canadian Press:
The storyline is that Kanye is on one end of the stage and I’m on the other, and the whole show, we are trying to get to where each other is,” she said. “I want something that he has, which is the fame, and he wants something that I have, which is home, and my humble beginnings. So we battle each other throughout the entire performance to steal each other’s spaces.”
Sidebar: I personally think that concept concerts/shows are the best. I think that I am going to have to purchase these tickets as soon as possible.
