First leak off of Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV. I’m stoked on life for this, as it is the first time Weezy has written down material since ’03. We should be in for quite a show. This here track has been described as “A Millie on steroids” by Mack Maine, and honestly I think it’s accurate. It may not be very POWERFUL steroids, but this track is raging. Now this CD was a pleasant surprise, and probably would get my vote for sleeper album of the year 2010. Chaz Shepherd‘s debut album, Love & Truth, released on his own label Chaz Records, comes straight from “Philadelphia to your world” and features 11 tracks of a brand of soul so rich and full in harmonies and melodies that it encapsulates your entire being and takes you to a place of depth, warmth and realness rarely experienced in today’s music. Reaching into the Black Pool of Genius, Love & Truth takes you on a journey reminiscent of R&B Soul legends Donnie Hathaway, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye all the way to the sultry soul of Rasaan Patterson and D’Angelo. In short, this Brotha can sing! I give this album a strong 8.5.

Since I’ve been on vacation here in the lovely city of Fort Wayne, Indiana, I went crazy at the music store! So what I’m going to do, starting with this post, is give you a condensed review of each new album I bought (Not Downloaded!). Tony Starks a.k.a Ghostface Killah is back on the scene with his latest offering called Apollo Kids. The album is definitely a must have in your collection, and features some of Hip Hop’s finest. Overall, I’d give the album a strong 8. Hot lyrics + Dope Beats – Lies = Real Hip Hop. Wutang Forever!
