That’s some BS, that their not releasing them to the public.  Anyone who is a part of the African community, like my family is, know that red, black , and green shoes form Nike is a big thing.  The colorway is perfect.  I want a pair!  Maybe Nike will see this post and consider me one of thos elucky few?  I can always HOPE.  If I see Barack Obama rocking these he will become the greatest man in history that very moment, oh wait, he already did that!

Nike will once again commemorate Black History Month with a special edition Air Force 1. The shoe will not be released to the public, but instead given out to a select few individuals who are currently making Black History in their own way. The shoe comes in a black bag with an inspiring quote printed beneath the 100 Year logo in silver. This year’s Air Force 1 features a striking black/red/green colorway and has some very nice touches, such as laser printing, colored stitching, a clear sole and a tongue reminiscent of some Air Max hybrid models. Congrats to whoever has earned themselves a pair of these. via slamxhype.

Text from the collector’s bag:

“100 years came and another 100 past
little did they know, nothing would forever last
the land they knew stood for “liberty and justice for all”
however, “we the people” didn’t include them at all
words on paper held no weight
it was time for judicial battle at the mahogany gate
they moved left and then shifted right
they fought for freedom keeping equality in sight
laws were challenged and changes were made
giving us the right to make the grade
thanks to those who fought the fight
moving the darkness and bringing light”

The Nike Show R5 gives responsive cushioning specially for runners. The top plate distributes the force of impact from the heel to the individual columns. It acts like a trampoline by deflecting the impact forces. As with the bottom plates, it supports the columns, providing a base that secure and guide your foot through the heel to toe movement or transition. The columns controls and mitigate impact quickly collapsing at first instance and slowly going back to its original state. This transition wedge allows for a smooth ride from the Nike Show revolutionary cushioning system in the heel to the Air Sole found in the forefoot.
