Not gonna lie, I was expecting more of like a dubstep-type song. That’s what I think of when I think of frat rap. Speaking of which, I think it’s time for some D.O.A – Death Of Albums (that use hashtags in their title). Who’s with me?

I know Skream is a dubstep artists, but this right here is straight grime! Trim is another famous grime artists, boasting an incredible work ethic with 10 mixtapes (since 2007) and 3 albums (since 2005). Xaphoon Jones has also made it very clear that this is one of his favorite songs, so take that as a sign that, yeah, you should be into this!

You know how since N*ggas In Paris came out, producers have been making electronic, dubstep-esque songs at 140bpm? Yeah, well you can trace that style directly to the UK, and it’s called Grime. The best part? The Brits have been making this kind of music for 9 YEARS. Don’t believe me? Here’s a cut from Dizzee Rascal‘s 2003 debut album Boy in Da Corner:
Right?! Trust me, I didn’t know a musical world existed outside of America, either. Needless to say, I’ve been scouring the Internet for the best Grime music, and I’ve compiled a pretty good collection. So over the next few days, I will slowly be introducing you all to the world of Grime. Make sure to comment and let me know what you think, I really honestly want to hear y’all opinion!

Man, it’s been a while since we’ve heard something new from my boy Riley. He’s back in action with a new joint, which samples Adele – a move you can’t really go wrong with. You really can’t go wrong with English artists, a point which I will prove in some upcoming posts! In the meantime, welcome back, Riley!

Man, there has been a drought of good music lately. Anyway, here comes a quick posse cut from BJ & Kendrick. K-Dot gets pretty heavy on this record, so consider that your caveat before you give it a listen.

Now, I haven’t always been Rick Ross‘ biggest fan, so I went into this tape with no expectations whatsoever. It was more for the features and the beats (he really does have an amazing ear for beats), so imagine my surprise when I really, really enjoyed this mixtape. Like, really enjoyed it. It was honestly album quality, so I definitely recommend checking this tape out. I’m narrowing down my favorites, but MMG The World Is Ours and Stay Scheming are incredible. Drake and Ross have great chemistry on Scheming, so I’m pretty excited for their collaboration. But don’t let me sway you, check it out for yourself!
